Specifically, it will look at the different editing comments, different types of comments made, and suggestions for revisions. Peer editing may be commonly used, however, not many are aware that less skilled writers are as able as their skilled peers to make useful comments on essays (Noor Hanim, 2011).This study compares the comments made by teachers, peers and the writers themselves. There have been numerous research that looked at how different types of comments influence revisions made. Comments made about the writing actually give an idea to the writer whether the audience has understood the message intended by the writer. ESL writing lessons could incorporate the use of comments as part of the writing activity.
The triangle has three parts: (a) the topic, (b) the writer and (c) the audience. The writer writes to be understood, but is it really understood? Is writing a one-way communication? How can we make ESL writing activities communicative? Skutches (2007) used Aristotle’s communication triangle to explain the importance of audience in writing. Writing is a form of communication between the writer and the reader.
